About me – Bereavement Counselling (incl Grief Counselling and Pet Bereavement)
Sally Hunt – Let’s Talk About It.
Hello, my name is Sally Hunt. I have a number of specialisations as a Counsellor. Bereavement is the one I am most well known for. People say I am empathetic, easy to talk to, a good listener.
I have been providing Bereavement Counselling (also Grief Counselling and Pet Bereavement) for more than 13 years.
My focus on Bereavement and Grief is because they are complicated subjects requiring a great deal of knowledge and understanding. For this I am unlike most other counsellors who are prepared to help you with anything. I offer you in-depth knowledge and experience of this subject.
My counselling room are between Reading and Newbury, Berkshire. I offer counselling therapy from here or by video (Zoom, Meet, Skype).
About Counselling Sessions
I offer a complimentary session so that we can understand each other and feel that we can work together. This is important for both of us, for you to understand me and the way I work. For me to understand you and the issues you have. Following this we will set up regular sessions, usually once a week for the first few weeks. Once you start improve, we will make the sessions every 2 or 3 weeks until you feel ok.
Counselling sessions are normally scheduled to be 50 minutes – our sessions usually end-up being closer to an hour. Sessions are private, one-to-one, and confidential. Our sessions can be in person at my counselling rooms or by video.
How I will help you
I will guide you through the 5 stages of grief. These being: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. You may not go through each stage. You may not go through the stages in sequential order. The way I see grief is that is a large jumble of emotions, you are trying to come to terms with the loss while your mind is a muddle. I will help you understand those emotions and how they fit together.
I also specialise in Anxiety, Depression, Low Self-esteem, Stress and Anger – and am well versed in these subjects to help you.
Thank you
Sally Hunt counsellor
