It helps you understand what you are going through. The emotions include shock, anger, extreme sadness, guilt, regret and depression.
You may need therapy because there are likely to be issues that you cannot discuss with a family member. Your relationship with the deceased was unique.
Grief Counsellor
The active involvement of a counsellor to help you with the changes you are going through.
The counsellor should be
- a BACP qualified counsellor
- specialist in bereavement and grief
- empathic
- a good listener
- have a private consulting room
- experienced with complicated grief
- active in their involvement with you
